Time Zone / Daylight Savings

Richmond is located in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) Zone, which puts it 3 hours behind the Eastern Time Zone (when it is 11 a.m. here, it is 2 p.m. in Toronto) and 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (when it’s 4 p.m. here, it’s midnight in London).  Daylight Saving Time is observed.  Clocks are set 1 hour ahead in the summer, so there is more daylight in the evening. Personal items (clothing, etc.) that will be returning with you are admitted free of duty. Pets entering Canada from the United States that are more than 3 months of age must be accompanied by a signed certificate by a licensed veterinarian from Canada or the U.S. verifying that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies during the preceding 36 months. Liquor Laws

The legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19. A government-issued photo ID plus a second ID with a photo or signature are required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
